In August, 2003 a group of extremely talented musicians, who had met at a social club for developmentally disabled individuals, came together and formed a band. They practiced twice a week and played mainly for their own enjoyment. Soon, many programs in California heard about this unique band and inquired to have the band play at their events. Naming the band was the next step. What to call a band that incorporates musicians with and without disabilities that will push their capabilities beyond any boundaries, hence the name “No Boundaries” (thank you Donna Wood).
Some of their past performances include the closing ceremonies of the Special Olympics, Harbor Regional Center parties, Easter Seals summer camp and fundraisers, an awards banquet in San Francisco, the Avocado Festival in Carpinteria, The Jeffery Foundation Christmas Show, and The Sino-American Awards Banquet. Also, the band has played shows for ARC of Long Beach and Ability First. |
